~Transport Tycoon
(Microprose)
Reviewed by Graham Stewart
Transport Tycoon starts in 1930. You have a lone of £100,000
and you have to build a transport network. You can do this
by joining up towns and industries.
eg. You can transport ore from a mine, to a steelworks. Then
take the steel to a factory, which produces goods which you
can take to any large town and sell.
You can transport goods by road, rail, air and sea. Although
using boats is a waste of money, as they to too slow and too
expensive. You also have to worry about competitors, who are
controlled by the computer, or someone on the end of a serial
cable. They will try to take over your routes, and block your
way.
This is a great game, but it doesn't have any shares or other
money aspects, which I have been told were included in
Railroad Tycoon. The graphics are SVGA, and the animations are
brilliant.
